Ag Tour 2003
Participants load up for tour of the Hancock Agricultural Research Station.

Come join this annual "Ag Tour" sponsored by the Agri-Business Committee of the Portage County Business Council. This event celebrates the agri-business industry in Central Wisconsin. The tours of local agri-businesses are open to anyone interested in learning more about the success of our area's agri-business industry. The event includes lunch, business, tours and transportation to tour sites.

Ag Tour 2004 begins at noon at Wisconsin Public Service Corporation in Plover with a picnic lunch and guest speaker.

After the picnic lunch, a tour of James Grezenski Forest Products, Inc is scheduled, where participants will see first hand the state's most modern saw mill in action. The process includes debarking, sawing, grating and sorting the logs.

The tour continues at Hamel Forest Products, Inc in Shantytown. Particpants will see a lumber stacker in action, kiln drying and the process of surfacing lumber for added value. Then it's off for a tour of the Paper Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Participants will view a unique educational paper machine that is the only one of its kind in the world.
