Canadian National, United Parcel Service, and Spee Dee Delivery each have a strong presence in the County, with the railroad employing more than 300 people and the remaining two companies having parcel-delivery services in Portage County. Direct-mail merchants are present in the form of Lands’ End, Figi’s, and Herrschners, which ship clothing, food products, and craft materials throughout North America. Plover is home to C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., a global logistics company that provides services to clients throughout the United States. Also, numerous over-the-road trucking operations, such as H.O.
