career Career success depends on preparation.  Through hands-on exposure and experience in the business community, Partners In Education (PIE) helps to prepare students of all ages to become part of the present and future workforce of the region.

PIE provides employability skills and career awareness
development opportunities for K-12 students in Portage and Waushara Counties by linking educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations through its programs and services.

Partners in Education is a coalition of the Portage County Business Council Foundation, area businesses and industries, Mid-State Technical College, The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and area K-12 school districts. PIE offers over 19 programs and services to help educators link their curriculum to the ?real world.?

Business Tours
Tours of local businesses and industries assist teachers in enhancing classroom learning by providing students with on-site experiences. This allows students to relate classroom curriculum to the local business community.

Youth Apprenticeship
The Youth Apprenticeship Program is a paid, one- or two-year experience where an employer hires a junior and/or senior student to work. The student takes technical college-level classes and works in all aspects of the business.
