Young Professionals (YP) began as a project of the 2004 Leadership Portage County Program. YP kicked off formal programs under the Portage County Business Council Foundation in Fall 2006. There is a YP Program each month of the year, alternating between "IN Lunches" and "Happy Hours". There are also special events scheduled a couple times per year, typically in the Spring and Fall. Young Professionals are invited to the "IN" Lunch Series. These programs offer "Impact Networking" with Portage County leaders every other month. Join other young professionals for a catered lunch and conversation with leaders from a variety of backgrounds in our community.

IN Lunches are limited to the first 25 registrants, maintaining a personal networking opportunity. Past guest speakers have included Bette Lang, Superintendent of Stevens Point Schools; Andrew Halverson, Mayor of Stevens Point; Bob Tomlinson, UWSP; and Brad Neet, President of Saint Michael's Hospital.

Young Professionals are invited to enjoy Happy Hours on the third Thursday of every other month. These Happy Hours are an informal opportunity to network with other Young Professionals and be introduced to Young Professional Programs. YP Happy Hours take place at a different venue each month.
